[The following is a contribution to the DSP's internal discussion on Venezuela's revolution.]

Comrade Stuart Munckton’s discussion contribution “Venezuela’s battle in the countryside and the ‘revolution within the revolution’” (The Activist Volume 16, No. 8) takes up the important question of the class nature of the Venezuelan state.

Rebuild the DSP as a public revolutionary Marxist party again.

[The following is an edited version of the counter-report and summary to the 22nd DSP Congress presented by John Percy on behalf of the NE minority. The vote for the general line of the report and summary was 15 out of 60 regular delegates and 10 out of 40 consultative delegates. There were no abstentions.]

Announces publication of Direct Action

The Leninist Party Faction, a dissident minority expelled from the Democratic Socialist Perspective on May 13, and Direct Action, an organisation established by former DSP members in Melbourne and Geelong after they left the DSP in June 2006, have united to launch a new party, the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), with members in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, Geelong, Adelaide, Newcastle and Cairns, and others currently residing overseas.
